December 30th, clearing afternoon sky under the cloud bank, runners in shorts at sunset, beautiful reflections of seaside scenes by the English Bay-Stanley Park seawall, followed by city lights and tree lights.

The Christmas Tree and The Maple Leaf, as winter and holidays draw closer and closer. Here in Vancouver we still have lots of red and autumn leaves onĀ  the city maples along boulevards, but not many on this one!

The Christmas Tree and the Maple Leaf (just below on pavement) at Wainborn Park Yaletown Vancouver. A chilly windy night but still holding above freezing, there's snow in the air, and the next morning thick on the mountains!

Santa’s littlest reindeer can’t figure out where all the others have gone, he’s trying so hard to get that sleigh off the ground, but it doesn’t move an inch…”come on Rudolph, pull your weight! Oops, I think we’re stuck on the beach!”
